Morocco’s World Cup Loss to Argentina Still Nets Millions in Revenue

The defeat of Morocco yesterday against the Argentine team did not prevent the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) from making a good commercial operation, particularly through ticket sales.
According to the figures revealed by the Hespress website, the spectators generated some 4.5 million dirhams in ticket sales to attend this match which was sold out yesterday. It is also a good communication operation on the part of the federation which made tickets available free of charge to associations for their members.
In addition to these tickets, the broadcast on national channels brought in 1.5 million dirhams, not to mention the rights granted to other foreign channels and the pay-TV packages that broadcast this match during which the players were buffeted by the wind.
Furthermore, the FRMF is doing well since it will not have to put on the table the additional 500,000 euros it had planned for the arrival of Lionel Messi, who was absent due to a strange pain in the pubis.
To recall, the two teams parted ways with Argentina’s 1-0 victory scored in the 83rd minute by Angel Correa during the match in which 6 yellow cards, including 4 for Morocco, were distributed by the referee.
