Morocco’s World Cup Hopes in Limbo as Ziyech-Halilhodzic Rift Persists

While Vahid Hailhodzic, Noussair Mazraoui and Amine Harit have managed to bury the hatchet, with Hakim Ziyech, it seems complicated. The mediations continue but do not yet foresee a return to peace between the two men.
Difficult reconciliation between the coach and the Chelsea midfielder? In any case, the mediators assigned to this task seem to have their work cut out for them. Hakim Ziyech would have refused to meet the coach of the Atlas Lions or to join the national team as long as the latter would be in place.
Between the two men, things have gone further with statements through the media to the point where Hakim Ziyech had announced with a certain sadness his departure from the national team. It is certainly for all these reasons that Hakim Ziyech has refused to meet the coach who went to London, with the aim of discussing with the player in order to find a solution to the situation that compromises cohesion within the Atlas Lions.
According to some rumors, the members of the 29-year-old player’s family, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation are doing their best to ensure that the meeting between the two men can take place during this week. The president of the Federation wants the Atlas Lions to take part in the World Cup in a good atmosphere. And this depends on the return of the players who have distanced themselves, denouncing the behavior of the coach.
