Morocco Woos Azerbaijani Travel Agencies to Boost Tourism

In partnership with the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) and the airline Turkish Airlines, the Moroccan embassy in Baku, Azerbaijan has organized a meeting followed by a dinner in honor of ten of the country’s largest travel agencies. Objective, to promote the Moroccan destination to these travel agents.
"This initiative is part of strengthening Morocco’s presence in the Azerbaijani market, in preparation for the exploration trip that these agencies will make to Morocco in the coming days," said Ambassador Adil Embarch in an interview with Hespress, specifying that "this meeting follows a study of the Azerbaijani market carried out by the embassy, covering one hundred travel agencies."
This study took into account "a large number of Azerbaijani tourists who have already visited Morocco," added the Moroccan diplomat, stressing that "identifying the opportunities and means to develop tourist flows between the two countries is a clear challenge and objective behind this approach." And to continue: "During this meeting, we highlighted the diversity of the Moroccan tourist offer, which includes cultural, beach, sports and other forms of attractiveness."
Adil Embarch also indicated that this initiative was an opportunity to "highlight the assets that make Morocco an exceptional tourist destination, in particular its ancient history, the richness of its heritage and the legendary hospitality of Moroccans." "The embassy presented, in this context, a detailed presentation, enriched with many images, information and recorded testimonies of world-renowned celebrities from cinema, art, fashion and sport on their unique experience in Morocco."
"This presentation was essential given the increase in tourist flows between the two countries in recent months and the growing interest in travel to the kingdom," noted the Moroccan ambassador to Azerbaijan, stating that the entry into force of the mutual visa exemption agreement between Morocco and Azerbaijan, on August 28, 2024, coinciding with the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Azerbaijan, "brings a continuous dynamic in this regard."
