Morocco’s Women’s Team Aims to Emulate Men’s World Cup Success in Australia

The Moroccan women’s football team intends to achieve an exploit similar to that of their male counterparts in Qatar, according to the words of their captain Ghizlane Chebbak.
Inspired by the prowess of the men’s team, the Moroccan footballers are ready to make every effort to go as far as possible in the women’s World Cup tournament.
In an interview with the FIFA website, Ghizlane Chebbak expressed the positive influence of the men’s team on the Lionesses of the Atlas, stating that the latter have proven that no goal is out of reach with the necessary perseverance and focus. "The men’s team showed us that nothing is impossible if we fight and stay focused. Moroccan supporters have an incredible passion for football, like us the players and players. So we’re going to do everything to give them pleasure," she said.
After achieving their best performance in the history of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, the Lionesses of the Atlas qualified for the FIFA Women’s World Cup for the first time. The support received during the Women’s CAN and the memory of the celebrations during the Men’s World Cup will serve as additional encouragement for the Moroccans.
They will start their World Cup campaign against Germany, double world champions, on July 24 in Melbourne, before facing the Republic of Korea in Adelaide and then Colombia in Perth.
