Morocco Vows to Challenge World Cup Runners-Up Croatia in Opener

Morocco is starting the World Cup this Wednesday, November 23, 2022 against Croatia. Aware of the difficulty of the match, the Atlas Lions’ coach Walid Regragui assures that his players are ready to give their best.
"We will play against the world vice-champions and we are ready to give our best [...] We will not be an easy opponent for Croatia," Walid Regragui promised at a press conference on Tuesday, acknowledging however the difficulty of the match. "The match will be difficult against the (2018) world vice-champion, who has world-class players. This match will be decided on small details, but we are ready to do our best to please our supporters."
Walid Regragui is confident in the work done over the past ten days. He referred to the friendly matches played against various teams participating in the grand sporting event. "We started to see the results in the last match against Georgia," he concluded.

With Tunisia, Morocco is the second Maghreb country present at the 2022 Qatar World Cup. On Tuesday, the Tunisians held the Danes to a goalless draw. Let’s hope that the Atlas Lions do the same or even better against Croatia.
