Morocco Urges Citizens to Comply with COVID-19 Lockdown Measures

The Minister of the Interior called on Monday on his fellow citizens to respect the measures put in place by the public authorities to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, the greatest contribution of citizens is to respect the measures taken by the public authorities.
In his explanations, the minister pointed out that the interaction of citizens and their respect for the procedures and measures taken by the public authorities are likely to protect each one in the future. Therefore, he called on citizens to cooperate and stay at home, except in case of necessity, with the exception of those who go to work. For the minister, confinement remains the only solution to curb this epidemic, as has been proven in some countries. According to him, the decisions taken today can only take full effect after two or three weeks.
According to him, an exceptional travel certificate and a work document have been issued in order to reconcile confinement and the maintenance of economic activity. The minister also stressed that this measure instituted by the authorities must be respected by everyone in the current situation.
"We must be honest with each other since it is the destiny of our country for which we are all responsible. The objective at the moment is to find solutions, which is what Morocco aspires to through the Special Fund for the management of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic," said the minister.
