Morocco Updates COVID-19 Treatment Protocol Amid Delta Variant Spread

A new unified therapeutic protocol throughout the national territory has been published in order to adapt to the epidemiological situation caused by the spread of the Delta variant. It is also applicable for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
In a circular addressed to the regional directors of Health and the directors of university hospitals, the Minister of Health, Khalid Aït Taleb, transmitted the update of the national therapeutic protocol.
"In order to improve the quality of care for patients affected by the coronavirus, the scientific and technical committee, Flu, ARI and Covid-19 has proceeded to update the national therapeutic protocol," the document states, noting that "the epidemiological situation in our country has experienced a rapid acceleration in the spread of SARS-CoV-2, with records never reached in terms of new infections in the majority of regions."
This update comes the day after his call to clinicians to comply with the national therapeutic protocol, particularly the prescription of hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin to patients with symptoms of less than a week.
This protocol now appears in a table that greatly facilitates readability.
