Morocco Unveils 10-Year Strategy to Boost Craft Industry Competitiveness

The new 2021-2030 roadmap for the Moroccan craft sector focuses mainly on improving the achievements of previous years and strengthening the transition of the sector towards an organized and competitive craft industry.

At a recent meeting organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Crafts, Air Transport and Social Economy, the new 2021-2030 strategy for the craft sector was presented, reports Aujourd’hui Le Maroc, adding that the results of the study related to the development of the new roadmap were also presented. To achieve its objective, the ministry has opted for a participatory approach, including all the stakeholders in the sector.

This new strategy is based on five strategic points, namely the structuring and support of the actors through differentiated support mechanisms ensuring the guarantee of an upgrading of the craft offer, the strengthening of the resilience and competitiveness of the actors, the modernization of the craft sectors, the enhancement of the know-how of the craftsmen, the support for inclusion mainly of women craftsmen. This strategy will also allow the development of the sectoral framework. Furthermore, "the implementation of the strategy is intended to be agile, dynamic and evolving, through three distinct implementation phases by 2030 (relaunch, transformation, then acceleration). These different phases will be marked by evaluation stages, in order to continuously adapt the sectoral action to changes in the national and international situation," said the officials.

It should be noted that the new roadmap is part of the implementation of the recommendations of the report on the new development model and takes into account all the components of the craft sector, including production crafts and service crafts, concluded the daily.
