Morocco Unveils Transport Guidelines for Gradual COVID-19 Reopening

Two specifications reflect the main decisions relating to the management of transport in the perspective of the end of confinement and the gradual resumption in this sector.
To facilitate the control of public passenger transport and that related to tourism, compliance with the specificities of the relief zones is required. Two specifications were officially signed on Monday by the Ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water. The latter ensures their application in this context of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. Thus, the ministry requires its availability on board the vehicle for inspection. Moreover, this department insists that the lines connecting Zone 1 and Zone 2 must take into account the initial schedules indicated in the authorization form or in the line route form. However, boarding is not possible at the transit points distributed in Zone 2, except for professionals with a mission order.
In addition, strict compliance with the 50% vehicle capacity rate, as well as a list containing passenger information are required by the ministry. According to La Map, transport companies must keep all the lists and archive them for a minimum of one month after the date of each trip.
The same requirements apply to tourist transport. To this end, the ministry’s services at various levels remain available to citizens, professionals and employees in this sector, for the proper application of the content of the specifications.
