Morocco Unveils ’Neo’: Affordable Locally-Designed Car with Unique Features

After several months of suspense and launch promises, the new "100% Moroccan" car has finally been unveiled in front of King Mohammed VI at the Royal Palace in Rabat. Intended first for Moroccans before considering its export, "Neo" is offered at a very affordable price according to its designers.
Equipped with a design entirely carried out by national talents, the "Neo" brand is based on a locally developed automotive production system. This initiative testifies to Morocco’s desire to strengthen its integration into the automotive sector and promote its national skills, we are pleased to say.
The Neo car stands out for its unique features, including a foldable roof and a spacious trunk, thus offering a comfortable and practical driving experience. It will be produced in a new industrial unit located in Ain Atiq, in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region.
One of the most anticipated aspects is the price of this car. According to Nassim Belkhayat, founder and director of "Neo Motors", the sale price of the "Neo" will be between 175,000 and 195,000 dirhams. This price range reflects, we are told, the company’s commitment to offering an accessible product to Moroccan motorists. Marketing is scheduled for next June.
Beyond its economic impact, the "Neo" project represents a total investment of 156 million dirhams, which will create employment opportunities with the creation of 580 jobs. With an annual production capacity aiming at 27,000 units, the company also plans a local integration rate of 65%. This initiative will thus foster the development of the Moroccan industrial fabric and contribute to the country’s economic growth, we affirm.
