Morocco Unveils Locally-Developed Hepatitis C Diagnostic Tests, Advancing Health Security

The Moroccan foundation MAScIR has announced the upcoming launch of Hepatitis C diagnostic tests designed in Morocco. These tests, complying with the best international standards, will be produced and marketed by Moldiag.
In an effort to contribute to the health security of the Kingdom, the MAScIR teams have developed and clinically validated in Morocco and internationally, a first batch of molecular technology-based diagnostic tests for the diagnosis and therapeutic monitoring of hepatitis C, tuberculosis, leukemia and breast cancer expressing the HER2 marker.
These highly efficient and accurate Virquant RT-qPCR tests will be sold at controlled costs.
The press release stresses that this progress will, in addition to supporting the national strategy for the generalization of medical coverage, help eradicate hepatitis C and tuberculosis at the national and continental level.
For the record, Moldiag has already marketed more than 2.5 million Covid-19 PCR tests and has a production capacity of 6 million tests per month.
