Morocco Unveils New Guidelines for Public Sector Return to Work Post-Lockdown

After a relatively long period of confinement due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Moroccan public administration will gradually but surely resume. To this end, the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Public Sector Reform has issued a circular setting out the new mandatory rules for the resumption of work.
This circular is presented as a guide. It lays down a set of guidelines and directives on the resumption of work in the administrations, after deconfinement. It gives details on the tasks and activities that can be gradually resumed by the administrations. These activities must ensure the safety and health of civil servants and users, while ensuring the continuity of public services.
The Ministry of Economy indicates certain important points in its circular. These are measures relating to the administration, civil servants, and users. Overall, the measures relate to compliance with health and safety rules aimed at containing the spread of the coronavirus. The aim is to prevent the resumption of activities in the administration and public establishments from being an open door to mass contamination of Moroccan citizens.
The Minister of Economy undertakes to ensure compliance with the guidelines, procedures and measures taken as part of the resumption of work. There will also be a question of encouraging employees to adopt a new culture and change their daily behavior, in order to guarantee quality services to users.
