Morocco Unveils Ambitious Plan to Attract 26 Million Tourists by 2030

Tourism Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor launched the work on the new roadmap for the sector with the National Confederation of Tourism and its main member associations and federations.
By launching this roadmap, the minister hopes that the tourism sector will be able to achieve its main objective, which is to bring the number of tourist arrivals to 26 million by 2030. To this end, the new roadmap is based on three axes: air transport, alignment of national and international standards, and investment.
This launch meeting of the work on the new roadmap, which took place in the presence of the Director of the ONMT, Adil El Fakir, as well as the CEO of the SMIT, Imad Barrakad, also made it possible to make a diagnosis of the sector, "the main lessons of which show significant changes in demand requiring a real adjustment of the supply," notes the ministry in a press release. It also allowed the participants to review some of the proposals made in the short and medium term by the CNT for the revival of the tourism sector.
The coming weeks will be busy for industry professionals through the organization of several thematic workshops to look into the needs of each tourism sector.
