Morocco U23 Stuns Brazil 1-0 in Olympic Friendly, Extending National Team’s Success

The Moroccan U23 national team achieved a real feat by winning again against Brazil, just a few months after a historic victory of the senior team.
On Thursday evening, it was the Atlas Lion Cubs U23 who shook the nets of the Grand Stade de Fès, in a friendly match against the Brazilian Olympic team. Zakaria El Ouahdi scored the only goal of the match, thus giving Morocco a 1-0 victory.
Last March, the Atlas Lions had already beaten Brazil 2-1 at the Grand Stade de Tanger, a first for Moroccan football.
The celebration was however spoiled for about twenty minutes after the lights went out at the Fès stadium. Despite this major glitch, the players remained on the field until part of the lighting was restored.
