Morocco’s Tourism Leaders Propose Recovery Plan Amid Pandemic Crisis

In a letter addressed to the Minister of Tourism, the presidents of the Regional Tourism Councils (CRT) have taken stock of their sector ravaged by the health crisis. They have also proposed a recovery plan.
A recovery plan for the tourism sector is proposed to the Moroccan government by the presidents of the CRTs. They declare that the tourism sector is seriously affected by the crisis, which must be seized as a historic opportunity to review the structure of tourism and think about giving strength back to the sector.
Faced with the many consequences of the pandemic on tourism and hotel companies, the CRT presidents, for the relaunch, are asking for an exemption from local taxes for a period of 12 months as well as an exemption from social and employer contributions CNSS, IGR and IS for the same period. Moreover, in their letter, they did not fail to request the abolition of the various municipal taxes and rents to be paid during this period of pandemic and closure of companies for a period of 12 months.
