Morocco Tops Africa's Attractiveness Index, Surpassing South Africa

Morocco is the most attractive African country in 2022. This emerges from the Attractiveness and Stability Indices of the Amadeus Institute.

In a press release, the Amadeus Institute indicates that Morocco has reached, for the first time since the creation of the Attractiveness and Stability Indices of the African continent in 2012, the highest step of the podium on the issue of attractiveness, ahead of South Africa. The kingdom occupies the 3rd place on the stability index. "Traditionally occupying good scores in this category, it maintains its position compared to the previous year," specifies the same source.

The Amadeus Institute also notes that the global economic situation and the weakening of many African economies and entire sectors, such as tourism, have affected a very large number of countries on the continent, but Morocco manages to maintain a strong profile of attractiveness in this context thanks to its macroeconomic indicators, the quality of regulation, the quality of its infrastructure and the development of its financial system.

The African Stability and Attractiveness Indices aim to measure the economic performance, social and environmental vulnerabilities, as well as the political and security framework of all African countries in relation to each other, through more than 70 indicators from African and international databases. These indices were created in 2012 by the Amadeus Institute with the support of Casablanca Finance City Authority.

The Amadeus Institute states that the Stability and Attractiveness Indices in Africa make it possible to provide an overall view of the economic, political and security situation on the continent and to compare the performance of African countries, while taking into account the particularities inherent to each of them and to each of the sub-regions of the continent.
