Morocco Targets Real Madrid’s Yusi in National Team Tug-of-War with Spain

Morocco and Spain are currently disputing several binational players. In addition to Lamine Yamal and Brahim Diaz, the two countries are also engaged in a fierce competition to snatch Youssef Enriquez Lekhedim, known as "Yusi", a 17-year-old left-back playing for Real Madrid.
Morocco is trying to convince Brahim Diaz, who has already played in the lower categories of Spain, to join the Moroccan national team. The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) would also be making the same approach to Yusi (Youssef Enríquez Lekhedim), a 17-year-old left-back from Real Madrid, who has already played for the Spanish under-17 and under-18 teams.
Morocco wants to see Yusi join its lower categories, reports AS, recalling that the kingdom had not adopted the same strategy with Achraf Hakimi who, although an international with the Spanish under-19 team, chose to play for Morocco and made his debut with the Atlas Lions at just 18 years old. Today, at 24, he has already earned 64 caps with the Moroccan national team, a semi-finalist of the World Cup in Qatar.
Morocco had also tried to recruit Moha Moukhliss, currently playing for Barça Atletico, when he was playing for Real Madrid and the Spanish U-17 team, with which he even participated in the World Cup in that category.
