Morocco Targets PSG Prodigy Ibrahim Mbaye for National Team Switch

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) is pursuing its policy of detecting the best talents abroad to integrate them into the den of the Atlas Lions. It has in its sights the PSG prodigy and striker of the French U16 team, Ibrahim Mbaye, recently elected best player of the Montaigu World Cup.
On the recommendation of the Belgian Chris Van Puyvelde, technical director of the Moroccan national football team, the officials and decision-makers of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) are closely following the talented PSG player, Ibrahim Mbaye. The Belgian technician has given the recruiters in France free rein to intensify the negotiations with the 17-year-old player and his parents, in order to convince the Frenchman to represent Morocco, the country of origin of his mother.
Mbaye (17 years old) has impressed the FRMF sports director more than any other player of his age group in France. This is why he is asking the federation officials to accelerate the process of changing his sports nationality. It is a question for Morocco of successfully pursuing the judicious policy of capturing the brightest talents from the European immigration, but also of preventing Senegal from having the young prodigy in its squad.
Ibrahim Mbaye was born on January 24, 2008 to a Senegalese father and a Moroccan mother. This revelation from the Versailles club joined the Paris Saint-Germain Academy in the summer of 2018. In a short time, he imposes himself on the French football chessboard. He quickly becomes a key player in the French under-17 national team. Ibrahim has scored 3 goals and provided 5 assists in 8 matches played. Recently, the striker of the French U16 team and PSG was elected best player of the Montaigu World Cup after contributing to the success of the Bleuets. The latter won a tenth victory in twenty-two finals played in this tournament. With these performances, Ibrahim could have a chance with the PSG first team led by Spanish coach Luis Enrique.
