Morocco Takes Strict COVID Precautions for Africa Cup of Nations Team

The Atlas Lions landed on Sunday in Yaoundé, Cameroon, in preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations to be held from January 9 to February 6. But given the current health situation with the coronavirus and its Omicron variant, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has taken drastic measures to protect the players and all other members of the Moroccan delegation.
Thus, the departure of Cameroonian employees from the hotel was required, among other measures. A radical but necessary measure according to Al Ahdath Al Maghribia, which points out that for a competition of this magnitude, it would be wise to take the necessary precautions to protect the Moroccan delegation from contamination. To replace the Cameroonian employees temporarily laid off, the FRMF has called on four Moroccan cleaning ladies.
And that’s not all. The Federation has changed the bedding, mattresses and blankets also brought from Morocco. All hotel compartments have been sterilized and the kitchen staff has come from Morocco. Regarding security, the FRMF has called on six employees of a Moroccan private company to oversee the security of the Moroccan players. Their mission is to prevent intruders from accessing the hotel, training centers, and ensure the safety of the Atlas Lions delegation at the stadiums hosting their matches.
A few days before the effective holding of this African competition, Vahid Halilhodzic is still awaiting the arrival of Youssef En-Nesyri, Badr Benoun and Imrane Louza.
