Morocco Tackles Expat Queues Marhaba 2026

The official launch of Operation Marhaba 2026 was given on Wednesday, June 10 by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, in accordance with King Mohammed VI’s instructions. While the influx of Moroccans residing abroad remains moderate for now, preparations are intensifying in ports and airports to anticipate the peak traffic expected between the end of June and the beginning of July.

Faced with delays and long queues observed during the previous edition, port authorities and various stakeholders are multiplying strategic meetings. The objective is to analyze last year’s failures to guarantee smoother transit. This year’s forecasts are based on the passage of more than 3.5 million travelers and 800,000 vehicles from Spain.

The global reception system was activated simultaneously in Morocco, France, Spain and Italy. This reinforced network now relies on 26 dedicated reception spaces, strategically positioned closest to key crossing points used by the Moroccan community.

Moroccan territory alone concentrates 20 operational centers. These structures are distributed between the maritime terminals of Tanger Med, Tanger Ville, Al Hoceima and Nador Beni Nsar, as well as 10 national airports including Casablanca, Rabat and Marrakech. Dedicated rest areas and land crossing points at Bab Sebta and Melilla complete this logistical organization.
