Morocco Suspends Sports Activities as Parliament Acts to Curb Coronavirus Spread

In addition to the measures already taken by the government to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, the Parliament has recommended the suspension of all sports activities in the kingdom.
The spread of Covid-19 is a concern for the social sectors committee of the House of Representatives, composed of six parliamentary groups, namely those of the PPS, Istiqlal, PAM, RNI, UC and MP. The subject was at the heart of a debate held in Parliament, reports Assabah. The deputies reflected on the possibility of suspending several sports activities.
On this occasion, the Minister of Health, Khalid Aït Taleb, reviewed the means deployed to counter the spread of the coronavirus in the kingdom. He recalled the decision taken by his department regarding sports activities (football matches will be played behind closed doors).
Following him, a deputy asked the Minister of Health to take other measures concerning sports, in particular the suspension of all national and international sports activities to be held in Morocco in March and April next.
