Morocco Suspends All Train Services to Combat COVID-19 Spread

Faced with the COVID-19 epidemic, the National Railway Office (ONCF) has decided to suspend its trains from Monday, March 23 at 11:59 p.m.
"The suspension of long-distance train traffic, coming from all directions, aims to curb the spread of the virus," the ONCF said in a statement.
This decision affects the regular services to Oujda, Fez, Marrakech, Tangier, as well as those of the high-speed line connecting Casablanca to Tangier via Rabat and Kenitra in both directions. Similarly, the shuttles, the lines known as Aouita connecting Kenitra to Casablanca via Rabat, will also be suspended.
However, the Office plans to provide a minimum service of commuter trains for passengers who will take the train to go to their workplaces. They will be required to have exceptional travel authorizations granted by the competent authorities.
