A difficult defeat to digest for the Moroccans, who, according to the statistics, largely dominated the match. They had left the field at halftime with a 7-point difference thanks to the performance of Moroccan goalkeeper Yassin El-Idrissi, who was able to counter the Algerian attacks.
In the second half, the Algerian team came back from the locker room with the rage to reduce the score or even win. The Moroccans, for their part, made a series of mistakes, creating opportunities for the opposing team. The Algerians equalized in the last minute of the match and scored a few seconds before the end of the match, dashing the hopes of the Moroccan national team.
On Saturday, Morocco will face Portugal, and will face Iceland on January 18.
