Stray Dog Packs Terrorize Moroccan Towns, Residents Demand Action

The proliferation of stray dogs in several municipalities in the Berrechid region has become a growing source of concern for residents. These animals, present in large numbers on roads, alleys and public squares, pose a real danger to the safety of pedestrians, especially children and women.
The situation is particularly worrying in the urban municipalities of Had Soualem and Sidi Rahal, where stray dogs, unsupervised, roam in packs in the various roundabouts and public places, causing panic and fear among residents and visitors.
According to the site Kech24, numerous testimonies report attacks by stray dogs against citizens, women and young children, particularly around roundabouts and streets in these municipalities. Soualem and Sidi Rahal seem to be the most affected by this scourge.
The lack of intervention by local and regional authorities to curb the proliferation of stray dogs is only exacerbating the situation and fueling the discontent of the population. Criticism is raining down on the elected municipal councils, accused of inaction and neglect.
The problem of stray dogs is not limited to the two municipalities mentioned. In other localities in the Berrechid district, the same observation applies: stray dogs invade the streets without any concrete measures being taken to control and secure them. The creation of specific enclosures to accommodate them and limit their spread seems to be an urgent necessity.
