Morocco-Spain Joint Operation Thwarts Potential Armistice Day Terror Attack

An operation carried out in coordination with the Spanish police and with the cooperation of the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) of Morocco resulted in the arrest of a "highly radicalized" individual who was about to carry out a terrorist act.
It all started with an alert from the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) about "an individual addicted to jihadist propaganda, which he was moreover sharing on a large scale," say the Spanish authorities. The one described as a "highly radicalized" individual had chosen Friday, November 11, the anniversary of the Armistice signed on November 11, 1918 and ending World War I, to commit a suicide attack. He was about to die as a martyr. But he was apprehended just in time.
The Spanish police arrested this individual, whose nationality has not yet been disclosed, in the town of Blanca in Murcia. A search of the suspect’s home led to the discovery and seizure of electronic equipment, phones and "highly interesting" documentation. After being presented before a judge, he was incarcerated for the needs of the investigation.
