Morocco, Spain, and Portugal Unite in Bid for 2030 FIFA World Cup

Morocco, Spain and Portugal are working hard to maximize their chances of being awarded the organization of the 2030 FIFA World Cup. FIFA will announce the name of the host country in December 2024.
A first meeting of the tripartite Morocco-Spain-Portugal Bid Commission for the organization of the 2030 World Cup was held in Las Rozas, Spain under the chairmanship of Pedro Rosha, president of the board of directors of the Spanish Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and Fernando Gomez, president of the Portuguese Football Federation. A meeting that ended on a note of satisfaction. "We are moving forward together with the aim of presenting a very good World Cup project that is stronger than ever with the integration of Morocco into our working teams," said Pedro Rosha, quoted in the FRMF press release.
"We are aware of the great responsibility that is ours, because we are facing a historic opportunity. We will add our best efforts to a great team of professionals who are working very hard to achieve the objective. It is an honor for us to be part of such a strong and important candidacy," Fouzi Lekjaa said for his part. Fernando Gomes, for his part, says he is convinced that the candidacy file "is very solid. We are working in a coordinated manner with professionals to obtain the best results."
Rabat will host the next working meeting of the Commission on October 4, 2023. It will be attended by the presidents of the three federations.
