Morocco Slips in Global Tourism Ranking, but Improves Regionally

Morocco ranks 66th out of 140 countries, thus falling back one place in the Global Index established by the World Economic Forum (WEF). This is revealed by the 2019 Global Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Ranking, which also indicates that the kingdom nevertheless shows better scores at the regional level, in certain sub-indices.
Morocco regresses one rank but shows better performance at the regional level in certain sub-indices, according to the Global Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Ranking (The Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report 2019 - TTCI, in English) established every two years by the World Economic Forum (WEF).
According to the same source, the Kingdom has gained points (+2.2%), and is positioned just behind Egypt with better TTCI scores in the MENA region on the sub-indices relating to "Natural Resources" (63rd), the "Most Enabling Environment in North Africa" (71st) and "Infrastructure" (69th).
Morocco is also among the three MENA region countries that have made significant improvements in the "International Openness" sub-index, along with Qatar and Oman, the same source details.
