Morocco Slashes Fuel Prices: Diesel Down 60 Cents, Gas Drops Too

Good news for Moroccan motorists at the start of the year. Decreases, sometimes significant, have been noted in most service stations across the country.
According to observations made on site and the professionals interviewed, a drop of up to 60 cents has been observed for diesel, the fuel most used by Moroccans. Gasoline is not left out as its price is falling by some 5 cents, much less than diesel but it’s still something.
These prices practiced in Morocco come as the price of a barrel internationally is experiencing a slight increase (80 dollars on January 1) since the beginning of December, when Western countries decided to cap the price of Russian oil at 60 dollars. In retaliation, Russia is banning the sale of its oil to countries that have decided to cap prices from February 1 onwards.
