Morocco Shifts to Home Care for Asymptomatic Covid-19 Patients as Cases Surge

Morocco is about to make a new decision regarding the care of people affected by Covid-19 but who "do not show any symptoms of the disease". It is the home care of these people.
This decision would be justified by the surge in Covid-19 cases and the increase in active cases, the number of which has exceeded the 6,000 mark, representing almost 100% of the hospital reception capacities, particularly in the cities of Tangier, Fez, Casablanca and Marrakech, reports Alyaoum24.
Asymptomatic cases that meet the following conditions will be affected by the decision: not suffering from chronic diseases and not being very old. The home of these people must allow them to isolate themselves in a room from the members of their families throughout the isolation and follow-up period.
According to the secretary general of the Independent Union of Public Sector Physicians, El Mountadar Alaoui, the making of this decision would be explained by the congestion faced by the country’s hospitals. This congestion, he notes, coincides with the occurrence of the 3rd stage of the spread of the virus. He points out that 90% of coronavirus infection cases are asymptomatic. Result obtained after the generalization of screening tests to contacts of sick people.
Dr. Alaoui firmly believes that compliance with preventive measures is a guarantee of eradication of the virus.
