Morocco Set to Reopen Diplomatic Office in Tel Aviv, Strengthening Israel Ties

Things are becoming clearer for the reopening of the Moroccan liaison office in Tel Aviv. The building has been completely renovated.
A completely renovated Moroccan diplomatic mission, a plaque bearing the text in Hebrew and English, "Kingdom of Morocco" affixed at its entrance. In addition to the finishing work, everything is ready for the inauguration of the Moroccan liaison office in Tel Aviv, reports the local press. The building is located on HaYarkon Street, where the embassies of the United States, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, India, Turkey and Russia are located. In January, a Moroccan delegation had traveled to Israel to prepare for the reopening of a liaison office.
Morocco normalized its diplomatic relations with Israel in December 2020 in exchange for the American recognition of the kingdom’s sovereignty over the Sahara. Since then, the two parties have been working to warm up their relations. The Hebrew state has reopened its representation in Morocco 20 years after its closure. David Govrin, ambassador of Israel in Egypt between 2016 and 2020, is the Israeli chargé d’affaires. The latter has still not found an office to rent in Rabat.
