Morocco Set to Launch NEO: First Locally Designed and Produced Car

Morocco will soon launch NEO, the very first car designed and produced on Moroccan soil. The vehicle has already passed static and dynamic tests in Morocco and abroad. The homologation process is underway.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, specifying that "this 100% Moroccan vehicle will be revealed in a few months. Gasoline-powered, less bulky and raised, the vehicle will be marketed at around 170,000 dirhams," reports l’Économiste.
With many assets, NEO will "easily find buyers among an urban clientele, young first-time buyers, local authorities, company fleets, the police... In other words, commercial success is guaranteed," says the daily, stressing that maintenance and spare parts will be guaranteed by Moroccan factories and equipment manufacturers.
In addition, Ryad Mezzour also indicated that the government has in its sights the NamX vehicle running 100% on green hydrogen, designed by the Franco-Moroccan Faouzi Annajah. "This vehicle is one of the Moroccan brands that we wish to support in order to develop production, design, and technology," said the minister.
