Morocco sends a new convoy after the floods in Valencia

A large Moroccan aid convoy left the port of Motril, Andalusia, this Saturday morning, heading for Valencia. Composed of 13 trucks, including 12 fire engines and a repair vehicle, it also transports 34 Moroccan volunteers to lend a hand to the populations affected by the recent floods.
According to EFE, this is the second convoy sent by Morocco in a few days. Last Wednesday, an initial contingent of 25 trucks and 70 professionals had already landed in Motril before joining the affected areas. The Moroccan teams will mainly focus on cleaning tasks, such as clearing public roads and unblocking drains.
Arrived from the port of Tanger-Med on board the ferry "Denia Ciutat Creativa", the convoy was welcomed in Motril by a large security device: law enforcement, Civil Protection and port police. The Consul of Morocco in Granada and Almería, Soumia Fhati, and the Director of the Port Authority, Vicente Tovar, supervised the operation.
José García Fuentes, President of the Port of Motril, recalled the crucial role of port infrastructures in times of crisis. "They allow for a rapid and effective response to the needs of the population," he said.
