Morocco Sees Surge in Chinese Tourism as Flight Bookings Soar 270%

As the Dragon Boat Festival holiday approaches, Chinese bookings for flights to Morocco are skyrocketing.
Already seeing the effects of the strategic cooperation agreement between the Chinese platform Fliggy and the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) signed during the 2025 edition of the International Tourism Exhibition in Shanghai (ITB China)? According to data published by Fliggy, Chinese bookings for flights to Morocco have, since the beginning of the year, recorded an annual increase of more than 270%, while sales of driver-guided tours have increased by 200% compared to the same period last year.
As a reminder, the agreement between Fliggy and ONMT provides for in-depth collaboration over a three-year period, focusing on developing the tourism offer, promoting destinations on a national scale, and improving the experience of Chinese visitors in Morocco. The ONMT has set itself the goal of increasing the kingdom’s visibility among the Chinese public and facilitating access to a diverse cultural and tourist offer, centered around local experiences and personalized itineraries. It is also planned to deploy joint campaigns on Fliggy’s digital channels, in addition to promotional events organized in China and Morocco.
This agreement with ONMT, which is an extension of Fliggy’s strategy to structure alliances with foreign tourism promotion organizations, follows a similar partnership concluded simultaneously with the Turkish Agency for Tourism Promotion and Development.
