Morocco Returns to Kings League, Aims for Championship Glory

Morocco will participate in the next edition of the Kings League scheduled for June. The team led by streamer Ilyas El Malki will try to win this edition, after its elimination in the semi-finals during the previous edition in Turin.
Gérard Piqué, the tournament’s creator and FC Barcelona legend, confirmed Morocco’s participation in the next edition of the Kings League, during his visit to El Jadida on Sunday, to attend the match between Difâa and Maghreb de Fès.
During the previous edition held in Turin, Majid El Khal’s protégés created a surprise by beating the United States, Japan and Ukraine. The Moroccan team had managed to reach the semi-finals of the tournament, before falling to a formidable Colombian team at the end of an epic match that had recorded audience records.
Some 3.5 million Internet users had followed the match live. Supported by its fans in the stands, the Moroccan team had caused a sensation during this edition. Its successful participation in this tournament testifies to the Kings League’s ability to attract high-level teams and players, the organizers say in a statement.
