Morocco Faces Colombia in Kings League World Cup Semi-Final

Morocco is following its journey in the Kings League World Cup with a semi-final match being played this Friday, January 10 in Milan.

Morocco will face Colombia tonight at 6pm at the KL Arena in Milan, as part of the semi-finals of the Kings League World Cup. The Atlas Lions, narrowly qualified against the United States last Wednesday, will try to secure their ticket to the final of this competition that brings together the best teams in the world.

To recall, the quarter-final against the Americans kept all its promises. In a goal-rich match, the two teams neutralized each other (7-7) at the end of regulation time. Nadir Louah opened the scoring for Morocco in the first minute, but the United States quickly responded through Devin Vega (2nd) and Eduardo "Pollo" Cortés (2nd, 19th). An own goal by Stefan Mijatovic (10th) and a goal by Achraf Mohamed Saoud (26th) allowed Morocco to catch up. Danny Benítez then gave the advantage to the United States by scoring a brace (21st, 31st), but Fouad El Amrani responded for Morocco with two goals (22nd, 33rd).

In a most stressful end of the game, Luís Morales (38th) and Castro 1021 (43rd) gave the advantage back to the United States, before Nadir Louah scored a brace in the 39th minute and snatched the equalizer for Morocco.

During the penalty shootout, the Atlas Lions showed composure to ultimately win 2-1.

Tonight, against Colombia, the Moroccans, who had already lost 4-1, will have to show a completely different face to hope to reach the final.
