Morocco Retains Arab Futsal Cup Title with Dominant Victory over Iraq

For the second consecutive time, Morocco wins the Arab Futsal Cup. The men of Hicham Dguig were up against their counterparts from the Iraqi selection in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
The final of the sixth edition of the Arab Futsal Cup ended with Morocco’s victory over Iraq (3-0). Morocco thus retains its title as champion of the discipline. An obvious result when one considers the journey of the Atlas Lions since the beginning of the competition.
Morocco had managed the group stage without conceding a defeat. It won against Kuwait (6-4), before facing Somalia (16-0) and completing this phase against Mauritania (13-0). In the quarter-finals, the Moroccan players beat the Libyans (3-0) before defeating Egypt in the semi-finals (5-2).
Throughout the competition, the Atlas Lions scored a total of 43 goals against 6 goals conceded. A very good run that has allowed the Moroccan national team to move up in the world ranking published on Saturday by the website "Futsal World Ranking". Morocco is ranked 10th worldwide.
