Morocco Reports Record 534 New COVID-19 Cases, Jeopardizing Reopening Plans

A few days before the end of the state of health emergency, Morocco has just recorded 534 new cases of coronavirus infections, undermining the deconfinement measures put in place since last month.
It is in the Marrakech-Safi region where the most cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours with 266 infections. It is followed by Fès-Meknès with 93 cases, Casablanca-Settat with 59 cases and Tanger Tetouan Al Hoceima, which recorded 55 new infections. Coronavirus infections in the other regions range between 1 and 34 new cases.
Despite the very strong measures put in place since last March, Morocco, whatever the health authorities say, is having more and more trouble controlling the situation.
