Morocco Reports 1,609 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Surpasses 49,000

The new coronavirus (Covid-19) has infected 1,609 people in the last 24 hours in Morocco, according to figures released by the Ministry of Health, bringing the total since the start of the coronavirus epidemic to 49,247.

• Casablanca-Settat: +488
• Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima: +114
• Marrakech-Safi: +186
• Fez-Meknes: +257
• Rabat-Salé-Kénitra: +134
• Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra: +11
• Drâa-Tafilalet: +66
• Oriental: +38
• Béni Mellal-Khénifra: +88
• Guelmim-Oued Noun: +4
• Souss-Massa: +213 (cluster in a factory: +166 people)
• Dakhla-Oued Ed Dahab: +10
Here are the other figures to remember:
• 42 deaths since last night (record!). Total at 817. Fatality rate at 1.7%
• 20,569 tests performed.
• 14,231 patients under treatment.
• 1,393 new recoveries.
• 196 people in serious condition, including 42 on artificial respirators.
In his Throne speech, King Mohammed VI mentioned a re-containment of the entire population in the event of a continuous increase in Covid-19 cases.
