Morocco Reports 137 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Infections Reach 6,418

The number of new daily coronavirus infections continues to be high in Morocco, with 137 new infections reported on May 12, according to the Ministry of Health.
With these new figures, the total number of infected people in the kingdom reaches 6,418, the ministry said on its dedicated covid-19 website.
In addition, the health authorities report 180 new recoveries, bringing their total number to nearly 3,000 (exactly 2,991), while the number of deaths in the kingdom has now reached 188 people. For Tuesday, no new deaths were recorded.
With the new figures announced, it will be very difficult for the Moroccan authorities to allow a complete deconfinement on May 20, the date of the end of the state of health emergency. A situation that is becoming less and less accepted by Moroccans.
