Morocco to Repay $1 Billion in VAT Credits to Businesses by Year-End

The government will soon proceed to repay debts to companies. A minimum of 1 billion dirhams will be paid by the end of next December.
These are the unpaid VAT arrears to private sector companies. According to the Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch, who announced the news to parliament, "this reimbursement will allow companies, and in particular VSEs and SMEs, to reconstitute their cash flow and show resilience in the face of the crisis".
According to the figures, the stock of VAT credits, which amounts to 13 billion dirhams, will be fully reimbursed by the end of April 2022.
To this end, the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) has already promised to reimburse a minimum of 1 billion dirhams by the end of next December, mainly in favor of VSEs and SMEs.
