Morocco to Repatriate Citizens Stranded Abroad After Omicron Border Closure

Moroccans stranded in France, Spain, Turkey and Mauritania, after the government’s decision to close its airspace, will be repatriated on December 7.
The government will organize on December 7 repatriation flights for Moroccans stranded in four foreign countries after the suspension of flights to and from Morocco. This concerns Moroccans stranded in France, Spain, Turkey and Mauritania, reports TelQuel Arabi.

The government decided to close its air borders due to the rapid spread of the new Omicron variant in Europe and Africa. The decision aims to preserve the achievements made by Morocco in the fight against the pandemic and to protect the health of citizens, the Interministerial Monitoring Committee had indicated in a statement.
