Morocco to Reopen Mosques Gradually Starting June 8, Ministry Announces

The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs made public this Tuesday, June 1, the schedule for the reopening of mosques. The process starts on June 8 and ends on July 20, 2021.
In execution of the High Instructions of King Mohammed VI, and in line with the communiqué dated May 31, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced the schedule for the gradual reopening of mosques. In a communiqué published on Tuesday, the ministry specified that the process will take place in four phases, reports the MAP.
The operation starts on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, with the reopening of the remaining 12,000 large mosques. Then, on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, a second group of 9,000 mosques dedicated to the five prayers, and a third group of 9,000 other mosques dedicated to the five prayers, on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, will be reopened, the communiqué adds, stating that 10,000 other mosques dedicated to the five prayers will be reopened on Tuesday, July 20, 2021.
The walis, governors and delegates of Islamic affairs will be associated with this operation of reopening the mosques, the communiqué assures.
