Morocco Rejoins Spain-Portugal Bid for 2030 World Cup, Ukraine Dropped

After being excluded by Spain and Portugal in favor of Ukraine, Morocco would be back in the race for a joint bid with these two European countries for the 2030 World Cup.
According to the Spanish newspaper AS, the negotiations that had been interrupted in the meantime have been relaunched and Morocco could well present a single bid with Portugal and Spain for the 2030 World Cup. The two countries would have decided to drop Ukraine because of the scandal in which Audriy Pavelko, the president of the Ukrainian football federation, is involved. Targeted by an investigation for fraud and money laundering, he has been suspended until further notice and risks up to 12 years in prison.
To give more chance to their bid, the two Iberian countries have preferred to dissociate themselves from Ukraine, and Morocco seems to be the perfect candidate as it has started negotiations in the past to be part of the project. FIFA should present the specifications in June before announcing the winner around September 2024.
Morocco has tried many times to host the World Cup without succeeding. But with this opportunity offered by Spain, maybe it finally has its chance.
