Morocco’s Regragui Targets Dual-Nationality Stars to Bolster National Team

The coach of the Moroccan national team, Walid Regragui, would be in negotiations with several dual-national players such as Brahim Diaz and Mohamed-Ali Cho to try to convince them to join the Atlas Lions.
Regragui would like to have a team full of talent in order to be able to make consequential choices. The Moroccan coach wants to strengthen the squad with the arrival of players like Amine Adli, Brahim Díaz, Sofiane Diop, Eliesse Ben Seghir and Mohamed-Ali Cho, reports L’Équipe.
Born in Spain to a Moroccan father and a Spanish mother, Brahim Diaz, 23, is a winger currently on loan from Real Madrid to AC Milan. He has already played once for Spain in a friendly match and still has the possibility of joining the Moroccan team. As for Amine Adli, 23, he has dual French and Moroccan nationality and plays as a winger at Bayern Leverkusen. He has already played six times for the French under-21 team, but remains an option for Regragui.
Like Adli, Eliesse Ben Seghir is also a Franco-Moroccan. At 18 years old, he is currently the attacking midfielder of AS Monaco. In 17 Ligue 1 matches played this season, he has already scored four goals and provided one assist. The young talent has also played once for the French under-19 team.
Of Ivorian father and Moroccan mother, Mohamed Ali-Cho, 19, has played for the English junior teams until 2016 and recently for the French under-21 team. In 19 matches played this season with his club, Real Sociedad, he has not scored a goal, but has made two assists. Coach Walid is also interested in Sofiane Diop, a 22-year-old left winger playing for OGC Nice where he has already scored two goals and provided four assists in Ligue 1 this season.
