Morocco’s Regragui Considers Boufal for World Cup Qualifiers Squad

The Moroccan national football team is actively preparing for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Coach Walid Regragui is soon to announce the list of players called up for the March training camp, ahead of the matches against Tanzania and Niger.
Among the names mentioned for a possible selection is that of Sofiane Boufal, the striker of Union Saint-Gilloise. The player, who stood out during the 2022 World Cup, seems to have regained his best form in Belgium.
After a mixed spell at the Qatari club Al-Rayyan, Boufal joined the Belgian championship, where he is gradually establishing himself as an important element of his team.
Although he has not scored this season, he has provided four assists, contributing to the performances of Union Saint-Gilloise.
Belgian media sources indicate that Walid Regragui is closely following Boufal’s progress. The Moroccan coach has, in the past, placed his trust in the striker.
