Morocco Recruits Dual-Nationality Defender Amine Chabane from Algeria’s Youth Team

Amine Chabane, who plays as a central defender for the Amiens club in Ligue 2, has joined the den of the Lionceaux (U-18). But the former player of the Fennecs U17 team does not rule out a return to the Algerian national team.
Born in France to an Algerian father and a Moroccan mother, will Amine Chabane follow in the footsteps of his older sister Lina Chabane (27 years old)? She started her international career with Algeria in 2016, before later defending the colors of the Moroccan flag. In June 2021, she thus participated in two friendly matches with the Lionesses of the Atlas in Rabat. In July of the same year, Amine joined the Algerian selection. Seriously injured in the knee in a car accident, the player of RC Saint-Denis (3rd division) has put her international career on hold. However, she still hopes to find the Greens.
Former player of the Algerian U17 team, Amine is following in the footsteps of his older sister. Not called up by the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) which only has U17 and U20 teams, he responded favorably to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Morocco having a very competitive U18 team (finalist of the 2023 CAN U-17 in Algeria and quarter-finalist of the 2023 World Cup in Indonesia). The young man thus joins the Lionceaux of the Atlas who play in prestigious clubs like Chelsea, Inter Milan or Betis Seville. On Friday, he made his debut with the Mountakhab. He played the friendly match between Morocco and Northern Ireland, which ended in a victory for the Lionceaux of the Atlas (2-1) and the match against England on Sunday, May 26 in St-George’s Park, Staffordshire.
However, it is not excluded that the Amiens SC player will one day find the Algerian selection, believes to know La Gazette du Fennec, which says it has obtained information from the close entourage of the native of Les Lilas (Paris region).
