Morocco to Recruit 4,600 Filipino Workers, Including Hundreds of Nurses, to Address Healthcare Shortage

Morocco is active in recruiting hundreds of nurses from the Philippines to address a shortage of human resources.
The Philippine Embassy in Morocco has announced that the recruitment by the kingdom of nurses from its country will be effective in the coming days. It will inform that the Moroccan and Philippine governments will soon sign a convention allowing the recruitment of 4,600 Philippine workers, including hundreds of nurses. The number of nurses and nurses that Morocco would need to cover the sector’s needs nationwide would be 65,000, according to the data cited by the Arabic daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Morocco remains far from the recommended standards. It recommends one nurse for 5 patients during the day and one nurse for 7 patients at night. As for primary care coverage, the ratio is about one nurse for 300 patients.
