Morocco Reaffirms Commitment to Peace Amid Rising Tensions with Algeria

Morocco says it is committed to good bilateral relations with its neighbors and will not be drawn into a war with Algeria.
Responding on Thursday to journalists’ questions about the new tension between Morocco and its Algerian neighbor, after the Council of Ministers, Mustapha Baitas declared that "with regard to the neighborhood, Morocco has a respect for the principles of good neighborliness with all".
However, he specified that the official response to this threat will come from the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
To recall, the Algerian presidency denounced in a communiqué the death of three truck drivers as they were traveling between the Mauritanian capital of Nouakchott and the Algerian city of Ouargla. President Tebboune threatened Morocco.
