Morocco Ranks Third Among African Nations as Turkish Tourism Surges

Moroccans seem to have chosen their dream destination. Indeed, more than 120,000 of them visited Turkey during the first nine months of 2019, thus placing the Kingdom in third place among African countries whose citizens like to spend their vacations there.
The Turkish Ministry of Tourism and Culture has presented a report which clearly shows that the Turkish destination is popular with many countries, including Morocco.
According to figures published by Lebrief.ma, nearly 25 million tourists visited Turkey in the first half of 2019, an increase of nearly 15% compared to 2018. Istanbul tops the list of visited cities with 8.4 million visitors (34.2%), ahead of Ankara, with 7.85 million visitors (31.8%).
In 2018, according to the Turkish authorities, it was German tourists who visited Istanbul the most (991,017 foreign tourists), ahead of Iran (872,560 people), Saudi Arabia (586,814 people), Russia (571,476 tourists), Iraq (564,502 people), the United Kingdom (424,149 tourists), France (413,404 tourists), the United States (340,295 people), China (330,453 people), and Ukraine (297,440 tourists).
