Morocco Ranks Among Nations with Highest Healthcare Costs for Travelers

Morocco is one of the countries where healthcare, both public and private, is the most expensive in the world.
Travelers are advised to take a series of health precautions, such as taking out health insurance, before traveling to certain countries where healthcare costs are exorbitant. According to Europa Press cited by La Razón, the traveler will have to plan 23,471 euros for healthcare in Morocco. A relatively high amount, but well below the exorbitant costs in the United States where healthcare is the most expensive, with an average daily cost of $2,883 for a hospital stay.
Healthcare is exorbitant in California ($4,181) and reasonable in Mississippi ($1,305). The average length of hospital stay is 4.6 days, with an average cost of $13,262. The traveler will have to pay much more for a surgical procedure.
Healthcare costs are also high in Turkey (€62,486), Cameroon (€45,718), Mexico (€28,666), China (€27,851), Bolivia (€23,673), Fiji (€23,376), Russia (€22,785), Colombia (€22,708), Thailand (€19,205), Panama (€18,008), Indonesia (€18,000), South Africa (€16,425), Algeria (€16,300), Chile (€15,903), Germany (€15,000), Switzerland (€14,661), Norway (€14,379) and the Dominican Republic (€14,311).
